thought about lowering but i am not sure if its worth it as i will be getting a new car in a year or 2.

If it's a year then probably not; if it's two then potentially is.

To be honest I am loathed to spend money on mine after the first year; in fact I got the remap and suspension done after only 100 or so miles and 1 day of ownership. That way you treat the cost as part of the car purchase and you get maximum value from the mods.

looking nice and clean especially in the proper VRS colour  Mine prob needs lowering too but roads back home are bad enough on it as is and I am moving back soon.......

No need to lower it, spend the money on some 18" Zeniths instead and recoup some of the cost selling the 17's!

I do like the Zeniths in 18" aswell!

It looks like in every shot your car is connected to the telephone cable running overhead, like a tram

Looks clean though,

I did this on my first imported VRS and the visual differences were minimal however the ride and handling reduced noticably...........

To be honest mate if you are flogging it in a year or so then I don't see the point of doing anything apart from enjoying the car!

I'd disagree, size matters

...and the bigger wheels will help come resale time.

Minimal improvement in resale - certainly nowhere near enough to justify the cost of wheels and tyres and of course if it's a trade-in, the dealer won't give a monkeys.

Really, don't underestimate the effect it has on handling either and nobody - not one of my collegues of friends noticed any difference in looks!

Standard unmolested car... lovely.... less is more?

I didn't mention value, I said they would help come resale time.

Its common knowledge optional extras or upgrades don't increase the trade in value but as a private sale they can make the difference between a sale or no sale so while it may not be worth more it would be more sellable.

...and I noticed from the pics straight away.

I'm guessing the OP doesn't care either way which is what counts.

Just gave my car a quick clean too...

Might be worth blanking out numberplates guys..............

Someone can take down my number plate if they really want. Hundreds of people see it on the road every day. The worst they can do is clone my plates and nick petrol etc but that won't be hard to prove that it wasn't me.
