2001 vw polo 1.4mpi 8v p0321 trouble code

Featured Replies

gfs polo packed in today not a fabia but figured they must use the same engine.

car doesnt rev when started up and really struggles like its running on 2 cylinders

scanned the car and comes up with p0321 trouble code: engine speed signal

hoping this is the crank sensor and its an easy fix?? if so anyone know the location of the crank sensor on these engines please

or anything else i can check/look for?

thanks ste

It's not the same engine no. The Polo is an OHC engine not a pushrod OHV.

However I'm not 100% sure if they have a crank sensor, does it have a distributor or a coil pack?

has one big coil pack that provides spark for 4 plug leads

Then it will have a crank sensor, more than likely around the back of the engine under the inlet manifold reading off the flywheel.

thanks found out crankshaft sensor is reading off flywheel just under inlet manifold so going to take it off today see if anything can be seen
