Buzzing/rattling sound

Featured Replies

Morning All

Had this weird sound coming from somewhere in the car for a few month now, from the drivers seat it sounds like its coming from the o/s front but i could be wrong.

It is really hard to explain as normally im very good at picking up on very slight rattles or what have you on the car but this one has me stumped.

When driving i can hear a rattle, not in time with the engine but it resonates with a certain rev, about 2000 goes a little like this;

Imagine a very small piece of wire loosely coiled around a another piece of metal like an induction coil, once it hits a certain frequency it has a high pitched rattle, very metallic sound and then quietens down below or above 2000rpm. Sounds really daft describing it but its driving me insane! It could be a lose nut with a washer that is vibrating or something.

Iv checked everything i can think of, nothing is lose and it has no affect on driving, i highly doubt anyone has had the same problem but anyone got any ideas of where to look?

..please!
