2.0 TSI K04 Turbo kit

Featured Replies

Hey all at Awesome,

in the market soon for more power and see you guys are back with APR, I would be very interested in the K04 kit they have available for the 2.0 TSI engine fitted to my facelift VRS, any idea on the price for that?

Hi Daz,

As of yet UK Pricing hasn't been decided. We're waiting on Keith and the guys at APR UK to set the UK Pricing level so that we can get started with listing the new products on our website! :)

You're the third customer to want this kit, so as soon as I've got some info, I'll post it up on here!

Many thanks, Al.

Is that including what APR call the "fully loaded" ECU? meaning I have switchable maps on the CC stalk?

That's the one yes!

It gives you:

Stock: 95 RON Mapped: 98 RON Mapped: Race fuel Mapped.

Valet Mode (Locks the revs to no more than 4000rpm and 70mph)

Security Lockout (Additional Immobiliser)

Hope this helps! :)

So how come Awesome are now back with APR? Are you still doing REVO maps?

No they are not Jonno.

Al, would that hardware fit a 1.8tsi as it's physically the same block?

I'm not sure, but I think you may well be onto something there! KO4 powered yeti would be flippin' Immense!

APR Now have a UK Based R&D centre so are now able to offer us the support and care that we needed from them when we broke off.

As well as this: Hardware, i.e. If we were to take a customer to Stage 3 with Revo, we'd have to buy a turbo from one place, a manifold from another, oil feed/return lines from another and we'd end up with a somewhat 'Frankenstein' turbo kit.

If anything was to go wrong we'd be doing a lot of too-ing and fro-ing between various companies trying to find answers.

With APR the Stage 3 kits are an all in one package product, of absolutely fantastic quality and we know that any issues, if we have any will be resolved quickly and most importantly by just one company.

There are a few other reasons behind this, but just so we are clear on this, we can't say anything bad about Revo, their support nor their software. They have been fantastic with us for the time that we were dealing with them.

Hope this answers a few queries! :)

Yep, They do a kit for the Transverse mounted 1.8TSI. Pricing is the same as the 2.0TSI kit. ECU Calibration would need to be done in house here at Awesome by APR or down at APR UK in Milton Keynes.

With the right Intake kit and a Turbo back exhaust system, running on high Octane fuel, you should be seeing between 300-330bhp and 305-335lb/ft of torque!

Sounds pretty darn good to me! :D

I'd like to drive that! Driven a mapped one at 220bhp and that was great!

Interesting stuff. I remember Jim Cotton telling me that the reason Awesome moved away from APR was that the support infrastructure wasn't up to standard so good news if this has been rectified.

Exactly! We're proud to be with APR because we know their hardware is pretty much second to none! There's not really anyone else out there who do all in one big turbo kit packages in the same layout as APR's and certainly not anyone out there who does any as good a quality!

When it comes to servicing our customers, we find Support to be one of the most important things. This was why we moved to Revo and the UK R&D and Support centre is the reason we've moved back! :)

P.S. If this KO4 Yeti goes ahead, I am gonna be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Jealous!

Al, what's the fitted price for that kit?

I'm not 100% certain as I'd need to run through it with our MD Jim as toward labour times, but from what I can figure out, It should be around £2750 all in fully fitted! :)

.. thinking about what I could get away with selling.

Kidney?

Kidney?

:) Make me an offer?!

Al - what sort of warranty do you get with the kit? Any other things you need to budget for if you go for this? Diff/Clutch/Exhaust/intake etc?

Thanks.

12 months parts and labour warranty on these :) Not really much to go wrong though to be fair! :)

Just as a quick update on this, we now have a fully fitted price for these TSI KO4 Kits -

£3180 all in - This includes the turbo kit, Fitting, Mapping and also includes fresh oil and oil filter and fresh coolant!
