Well its been appoved..

So Screen is to be ordered....

I think Skoda CS and some of its dealers should make the same decsisons across the board... As it went to Skoda Warranty to be approved anyway..

So why did Skoda CS and my local dealer tell me different!!!

cheers

An Update...

Well what a pain in the rear!!! Arranged for new windscreen to be replaced on a Tuesday... Dropped it off and collected loan car...

Got a phone call later in the day.. ' Erm sorry we could not replace your screen as the replacement has been damaged' ... The replacement screen had been in stock for 2 weeks prior to my appointment.. Why wasn't it checked!! So went back to collect my car, it was booked in again for the

Thursday.. So again went in dropped it off....

Phone call mid afternoon.. 'Its all finished and ready to collect.'

Went to pick it up and there is tape from the screen down onto the OSF wing.. I go in and ask why... A technician goes out and removes it...

I go out with him to check if everything is ok.. Well no it is not..

There is a lump of glass missing from the OS bottom corner... the bottom scuttle tray has been bonded to the trim that runs down the edge of the screen, which has cracked the plastic... So I need ANOTHER windscreen +

Scuttle tray with the washer jets etc...

Why don't Skoda service people check they or contractors work???

And why don't they ever clean the car??

My VW Passat was allways valeted in and out after service or warranty work.. Skoda's reputation will be taking a hit if this is the type of crap service becomes common....

Not having much luck really are you?

This Just Happened On My Vrs This Morning.no Stone Chips Or Debris Hit Screen.crack Appeared Just Below Wiper Blade, and Gradually Crept Up Screen.mines Is A 03 Plate Octy Vrs!!!!!!

Mine just had it's driver side front alloy scraped when it was in to get a few bulbs changed. Not amused. I found out as I stepped out of the car and informed the dealer, expecting to get it resolved FOC though as it was undamaged went it went in and it wasn't driven apart from into the workshop and back out to the car park (not by me)...

Pretty sure they'll sort it though so currently not overly annoyed yet...

I am new to the forum today basically because I have had to have the windscreen replaced in my Fabia ('03 1.9SDi) - stress fracture bottom left side (no chips or marks or anything)

I hope this will not be like our Octavia which was fitted with 4 new windscreens in a single week by RAC (they were using British replacement parts):( - was finally OK when they fitted a Skoda original part.:)

The Fabia (used car, but new to me 3 weeks ago) has now had a new windscreen wiper motor fitted (not the actual problem but a 2 week wait for the part - this is a common problem so they thought this was obviously the cause - not!) and now I will have to wait God knows how long for a new control box to arrive (all day job in the garage as they will have to remove the dashboard). In the meantime I have a car with no windscreen wipers when it rains (they work when it's dry!)

How common are these problems with the motors/control panels/windscreens cracking for no apparent reason???

Has anybody used this forum as ammunition against their dealer?
