Just had timing belt+water pump done now my 1.9sdi sounds like a van any ideas what this could be

How is it doing for power? Is the power higher/lower down the rev range?

Timing should be spot on the bloke who did it worked at skoda for 30 odd years and power wise seems the same as befor picks up around 1500-2000rpm

In what sense does it sound like a van and under what circumstances?

Loud ticking all the time when its idle and under load not sure how to explain apart from if you have been sat next to a transit van lol

Our SDI had a cambelt/waterpump change a few weeks ago.

No change at all in how she sounded afterwards.

I reckon the timings out a little.

Erm hope its not would the tappets mate a ticking noise?

If its just had the timing belt done and the sound has come straight after then its got to be timing related

Not sure what it is but i will be calling the garage and getting them to sort it so will update with what the problem is
