Wheel advice

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Apologies if this has been put into the wrong forum/section but I couldnt see where it should go.

I am looking for some advice on Wheels. I currently have standard steel rims running 165/70 R14 81T Tyres.

Can someone please tell me the way that wheels are measured as I would like to be able to use my original tyres. I need to know about stud diameter etc. Where could I get this information on my current car?

For reference, I have a 2006 Skoda Fabia.

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

If you are going to use your tyres again you will need to get obvously 14" wheels and with that tyre size I would say you needed a 5.5-6" inch in width which will be something like 6J. You can check this by getting a ruler with inches and cm on and see what's the best match for 16.5cm.

The wheels will then need to be 5x100 stud spacing and the et/offset will need to be around 32, which but check your old wheels to see what they are and match them the est you can (it will say on the back of the spokes) with a low et the wheels will stick out more, with a high number et the wheels will tuck in.

You can calculate how much you new wheels will compare to you old ones to see if they stick out any more if you type in on google offset calculator and then you compare your old to your new.

I hope that is a help

Surely some standard skoda 14" alloys would make sense, or similar from the vag group like maybe polo

Also easier to pass with insurance if they are standadr Skoda without them making a fuss about it, which is worth factoring in
