Featured Replies

please guys... cant drive my new car till i get one. cash waiting....

Thats a tough one, because the 120 L5 box is basically unique to that car.....a 5 speed trailing arm version. I would be surprised if you find one on here. Try www.skoda-forum.com there are a lot more rear engined fans on there and someone might have a 120L5 box.

A 4 speeder may be easy to come by

I just posted that on the other forum...great minds etc!

would be different linkage and stuff to source and change no?

no, you can chop the standard one, squide the end and drill a hole....its all the same kit!

Eh, the 120 L5 is the 5 speed swing axle it was the 120 lxe that had the trailing arms same as the 130 etc.

whats wrong with your box mate I may be able to rescue it as I have lots of parts but no complete box's

thought we might have sorted it out, put it all back together then descovered when you put it in gear instead of moving the car the gearbox knocks like hell and no movement :(

No I dont think you will. All Rapids came with a semi trailling set up.....if yours is a mk1 1200 Rapid then it should have the rarest gearbbox of the lot - a 4 speed semi trailling job.

I have the chassis number would this help

The chassis number is TMB13M00GJ5131763

I have another skoda estelle chassis number TMB12M00LK3751099.

Unless its running a completely different rear end it wont have a compatible gearbox (without work). All Rapids had a semi trailling rear set up with drive shafts, most Estelles (not 130s or 120 LXEs) had a swing arm rear with drive shafts encased in an oil filled tube similar to a VW Beetle. The 120 L5 had a 5 speed box but it still ran a swing arm rear suspension.

A gearbox is on it's way to you Tom from my barn.
