VRS Rear Brake Caliper - Painted or Not?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about replacing my rear left (nearside) brake caliper the brake cable lever is jamming again.

I've have freed it up several times over t he last 12 months with a shed load of WD40 (and a hammer!) but it keeps locking up.

So, I've been on AVS car parts & they sell both the Green VRS painted caliper and the plain unpainted one. Apart from the colour is there any difference? The reason I ask the green one is DOUBLE the cost of the normal one. I could infact buy 2 new normal rear calipers for less than the price of just one Green one.

If its the same, are they easy to paint? Are there any shops (like halfords) out there that sell a good paint match.

Cheers.

Different brakes were fitted to the vRS during its lifetime, sufficiently different for Skoda to show different codes for them on the build schedule - but I don't know what the difference is or whether they're mutually compatible.
