Mystery starting problem

Featured Replies

Hi To all at BRISKODA

I would like to thank everyone that post tip & help, I have just fitted new reversing sensors to my 2005 Skoda superb after finding out how in this forum. Cost £15.00 E-Bay.

Now for a story after pulling back the offside read inside panel as instructed for the replacement sensors. I found that the rear cigar socket was un plugged brill as it has never worked since I got the car 2.5 years ago Bingo that will sort it plugged in my phone to see if it was working sure enough charging tided up panel screwed back on, back indoors watch the football.

Next morning into the car turn over it would not start, satnav not showing on dash radio not showing, phone not connecting. What was going on in my head I can't print.

Now I am unscrewing and checking the wiring from the day before, nothing found looks ok

. I was now thinking that I would have the phone the local dealer, as we know at least £80 per hour, for some reason I went back into the car and tried to start it vroom & the dash working what the?

Went back into the boot only to see that I had pulled out the plug for the cigar socket again left it off screwed it all back up working OK.

I am now wondering if the last owner had this problem and that is why it was disconnected.

It is laugh it should not have worked but it is going and some of you will think I am nuts. lol

Regards

JDZ

Did the car not crank at all or it didn't even turn around the starter?

It turned over no problem, but did not even try to start.

I know it is laughable just cannot bring myself to connect it back up as the car ran all day today.
