First mass run out for the TSI Leons in WTCC at Valencia

Featured Replies

For this weekend's WTCC race at Valencia another three of the Leons will run the 1.6 TSI engines instead of the TDI.

After Tarquini's pole in the last race and 3rd place in Race 1 we will see how the TSIs do against the Chevys, BMWs and Fords on this twisty track.

Fingers crossed.

Not quite. Tom Boardman will be using the TDI this weekend. I think most of the 8 ie 5 or 6 will be using the TSI these weekend and all within a race or 2.

The petrol 1.6 produce about 25 hp more than the 2 litre diesel so is needed to catch the Chevys although Valencia is not a power circiut compared to Imola but as Tarquini got pole and the 5 points now allocated to getting pole it is a good show for the new TSIs.

Well Tarquini got second in the first race but no real joy for the petrol SEATs in race 2.

Aleksei DUDUKALO had a terrible start and partly messed up Tarquini. Pepe ORIOLA had a good race and looks promising.

These WTCC 1.6 SEAT seem about half a second a lap quicker than the Sunred 1.6T so looking good.

Poor Tom Boardman got a shunt so had a bad weekend, better luck next time in Marakesh.
