Congrats nokiauk, well done

I'm curious as to why you didn't opt for the full park assist??

Do please tell............

Got it currently, it works but have only used it once and that was only to see if it did actually work, not something I have ever really needed or see myself needing.

I totally agree with your choice on front sensors versus park assist nokiauk. I too have this car on order with front sensors but no park assist. I know park assist is only a little more, but I'd really never use it and just more to go wrong. Plus I do not like the idea of an automatic system faulting possibly and taking over the steering in a non-parking situation.

Nice choice.

....Front sensors....

I can't see this feature as a separate item in the current brochure. Am I just blind or is there a new list somewhere?

Acoustic parking sensors (front, rear standard) £310

Thank you - so kind! I can see it now - it must have been past my bedtime. £310? Wow! That means that the front sensors are 60% of the cost of the park-assist system! Surely, the rear sensors don't cost that much?

I don't know how others feel, of course, but with a square-ish backed car (as XT, Yeti etc) I find that the back corners are fairly easy to watch when parking, while the actual position of the front corners is rather vague over the curves of the bonnet. And even that changes according to the driver's eye level - how high they sit. On that basis, front sensors are far more helpful than rear!

Anyone else remember those little clamp-on sticks (with ball tops for safety!) that people used to put on the front of the car to help with parking?!

Plus I do not like the idea of an automatic system faulting possibly and taking over the steering in a non-parking situation.

Erm........ most all cars these days have electric steering. Even the latest Porsche 911 now has electric steering. Park Assist just uses this to manually steer the car. So your fear of the car driving itself whilst not in Park Assist mode would hold true for ANY car. :giggle: So I'm sorry, but I've never heard of an electric steering system going wrong and deciding to drive where it pleases.......

Nokiauk: enjoy the wait! You're going from a manual to a DSG! Enjoy. I'll never be without a DSG. I don't need it but heck it just makes the car so relaxing.

Thanks I don't need DSG either but I've had it previously in a Golf and with doing a bit of city driving each day though it should make my Yeti experience more pleasurable.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you order this from? Is it the 140 or the 170 engine that you went for?

Still awaiting a build date for mine (ordered 23 May 2011) and seriously considering binning it altogether....

Ordered from Parks Skoda in Hamilton, 1st week in April, it is the 140 engine with 4x4 and DSG so pleasantly surprised the build date has been moved forward. I got my initial build date of week 33 the Monday after I placed the order on a Saturday, I'd suggest chasing your dealer if you don't have a date yet.

Hi Nokiauk,

Stevie & I have already discussed our long wait - mine ordered (6 May 2011), with a quoted build date of week 34 (w/c 27 August 2012)... I would love to know what goes on behind the scenes in deciding who gets what!!

Waiting patiently, Peter

Maybe it depends on dealer build slot allocations or possiblly as mine is a DSG it fitted into a quicker build schedule. There does appear to be no real way of working these things out.

Might also depend on who your buying it from. Believe dealers get allocations, if your dealer has used theirs up, then you could be in for a long wait. If you have gone with a broker, then they may have got a good price on the back of a long lead time but their not likely to tell you that are they ;)

Ordered .... 1st week in April, it is the 140 engine with 4x4 and DSG ...

Ours is/will also be the 140 4x4 DSG, but in SE trim, ordered the same week. Might our delivery be similar too, I wonder!

Well done both on going with the DSG box. I've got it and it's great! The best!

So different than the slushmatic (well I think I'll change, mmm yes I think I will, there I've changed) on my Merc SLK!

We ordered our new Greenline Elegance on 16/04/2012.

I phoned our Dealer,Horton's of Lincoln, today, on an unrelated Citigo matter, and was told that they'd been informed by Skoda yesterday that ours was built. We never did get a build week. They

Expect delivery end of june , so that's just over 10 weeks from order to delivery.

;)

Ordered mine on 26 jan, factory got the order on 3 feb, still don't have a build date, ordered with dtd, thinking about buying a nearly new one instead and cancelling my order. When am I supposed to get a build date? Getting peeved already, probably due to a lack of communication from the dealer involved ......... Any help would be greatly received .

Hi, ordered my candy white 110tdi se plus with silver rails and spitzberg alloys, free mudflaps, free rubber boot mat on 8th Feb and picked her up on 10th May. i can confirm that it has the amundsen plus unit. brilliant car. got 12% off list price and free 3 year service plan from skoda uk.

12% off list - that's a very very good deal. Only £400 off of my white Urban 110 diesel with no p/ex. Mind you, only had to wait just over a week as it was already on the boat. I can't grumble too much as lucky to buy for exactly £15K as was a "disabled" VAT free sale - still, perhaps I should have haggled a bit more. White is "the" colour - good choice.

autoebid.com have two 2.0 TDI CR [140] Elegance 4x4's in stock for £21,076.47, in Silver or Cappucino.

Might be worth a look if your sick of waiting? (may not have any options you may require though).

Mine was through dtd, no problem getting info from dealer, build date and order number supplied by them. Is the dealer refusing to give you a build date? Seems odd.

If dealer is refusing to give you info, call skoda customer services with order number, they will also tell you if you explain dealer being unhelpful.
