what does this error code mean and how can i stop it happening

Need some vehicle details to help but essentially it means there is a mixture issue with there being to much air to fuel.

Some of the 1.4 engines have an ECU update to sort this.

ive seen this fault code pop up on my previous fabia, it was caused by a minor exhaust leak before the catalytic convertor, it was drawing fresh air in on over-run which was fooling it into thinking it was running lean... was on a 2.0 petrol engine

could this be why when going through a narrow gap the car sounds like a diesel

There are four different 1.4 16v engines, need an engine code.
