Engine management light

Featured Replies

Hi just as I was driving on the m1 today my engine light come on but the car drives perfect no fault at all,it's happened once before but the guys at vw Audi breakers Nottingham diagnosed as power loss. I didn't write a fault code down and they also reset it and a month later I'm back to square one with it on again. Has anyone come across this problem if you could Point me in the write direction thank you really appreciated.

A fault code would help.

I get the engine management light come on at least once a week, in fact I am tired of clearing it.

Always the same code P1142, Going back to a Ford when I can find the right car.

The EML could mean almost literally anything. If you're struggling to get it scanned and can get to Sandiacre, then I can do it sometime. If there's no difference in driving it then could be EGR or glow plug related.
