Glad I have a Diesel Fabia!

Well...have been sensible this week!!!...haven't been panick buying fuel. But went out last night to a function with my wife and found all the garages closed in my home town at around 8pm and I reckon I had about 5-6 litres in the tank. Didn't have far to go so that was ok, but was able to fill up this morning at my local and it took 39.5litres. No drama, but that's a bit low for comfort. But looked at the fuel consumption computer thingy and it was showing 77.1mpg for the weeks motoring (no town work and mostly 4th gear country road stuff). Well, am I feeling a bit smug this morning? You bet! :giggle:

Impressive!

Thanks Babs, I've been driving with economy in mind due to the fuel situation. I guess most of us are to some extent but I under estimated just how much fuel was flowing out of the garage pumps so quickly. I've been a bit cut off from the media due to my work this last week and just didn't realise how critical it still is. I have to say that most of that driving was at around 40-45mph on 'B' roads with some dual carriageway at 60mph. But always keeping up with most of the traffic on the slower roads.

Did you nearly fall asleep at the wheel? ;-)

I was over the moon with 72 from my Monte, 77 is epic :)

It's actually a part of driving I enjoy, trying to get a decent MPG from a car without driving everywhere at 30 in 5th gear! My car will never give anything like that, but I'm quite happy with 35mpg on my way to work :)

Yes...when I woke up I was there!! But remember, my 1422cc TDI doesn't have your Monte's performance so you are doing amazingly well at 72mpg. Well done.

Nice going!

I was worried when I got 47 litres in my vRS... was quite low lol
