Clutch HELP!

Featured Replies

I've just fitted the engine/gearbox back into the fabia (1.9 PD 100) and I can't get the clutch slave to seal properly.

I mustn't have been very observant when I removed the slave hydraulic pipe as I don't recall there being an O-ring seal present, however there must be one somewhere as plastic alone isn't a good seal.

In the picture is the feed pipe, I've tried a couple of o-rings on the point being indicated by the tip of the screwdriver, but it still leaks (a lot).

What am I missing? Does anyone have an exploded diagram?

Thanks, Dave.

For the record, I figured it out, the rubber seal had popped off the pipe and was sitting inside the slave cylinder.

I made a hook tool out of a paperclip and fished around inside of the cylinder hole and it came out straight away. The picture below shows the tool and the seal, it pushes over the end of the pipe sealing into the flange.

Maybe this will help someone else.

Oh, nice. I think i'm having clutch issues. My clutch is soft as hell. I had a skoda mechanic test drive it and he said its fine. But now that i drove my mam's opel and sister's mini today, i'm not so sure.

They do all feel different, but if its changed noticeably then that's when you should start investigating.

If it feels 'soft' then it might be air in the line, or possibly just needs the brake (also the clutch) fluid replacing as it absorbs water over time.

Dave.
