Hi guys just wondering the best place in the west Midlands to have my cam-belt and water-pump changed.

Also how much will it cost about 300?

bits including tensioner, Thermostat and stuff came to £200 and my friendly mechanic said under £100 for fitting. Brought all the stuff my self which were genuine bits so 300 is about right

I just got a quote from main dealer in Hudds for cambelt - £300 all in.

Water pump approx another £80 if required.

Also make sure you change the hydraulic damper that actually tensions the belt (it's not part of the kit).

Hydraulic tensioner is not part of a standard cam belt kit, you'll need to get the cam belt kit, tensioner and water pump and coolent. If you're not gettin it done by vw or a specialist you'll be best off supplying that yourself or you'll end up with the cheap blue stuff.

Think about , and look at how close you are to Unit 18,in MK. Try asking Ali/Tech1e for a quote. Might get you a pleasant surprise .
