Replacing Head Unit Question

Featured Replies

Im looking at ripping out the Sympony head unit and changer in my vrs and replacing it with a CD/MP3 head unit ive got from my old car. Now as I understand it you have to change the perm and ignition live wires around. The problem is the unit im sticking in is a Blaupunkt unit so has no harness lead, just ISO sockets on the back.

Do I really have to buy a PC2-69-4 or equivalant lead to do the job or swapping the wires over or it there another way round it?

Snipping the wires on the loom maybe and putting them on bullet connectors?

Reason I ask is that I wanted to do it ASAP and im not prepared to pay Halfords £15 for a lead and so the only other way was ordering from the net and waiting till it eventually arrives......lol (im impatiant)

Cheers

Sorted it this morning. Decided against touching anything on the standard loom so ended up buying a lead from a local car audio shop. Only charged me a fiver in the end so not too bad after all.

Thanks for the link though. Im sure that will come in handy at some point.
