I only just discovered this community even though I've owned a Skoda since 2003. I've currently got a Forest Green Octavia 1.9TDI Manual L&K Estate, but sadly we are going to have to part as the faithful beast now has over 200K on the clock and 2011 was a very expensive year

I'm looking to get a new Octavia around now, and I'll no doubt be posting for advice as I'm working with things I don't know i.e. which is the more economic car - a 2007 1.9 TDI DSG, or a 2008 2.0 TDI Manual? No amount of searching on Skoda's website has reaped any information, and of course the garages (quoting the 2012 figures) just say that there's not much difference between either of them and what I drive now...

Anyway, I hope I can offer something to this community/forum; I was once an AA man but that was in the days of contact breaker points!

By the way, 'RedRobbo' is a nickname as I'm the union's regional health and safety rep - no relation to the other guy! :happy:

Hi.... Just a bit of as heads up.... I got in my Superb 1.4 TSi 2018 (50,000 miles) on Friday night and the engine started making an almighty rattling / clattering / knocking noise. When I took it to a local indy garage the next day they said it sounds exactly like another Skoda they had in the previous week. The one they looked at before wasn't a Superb (can't remember which model they said), but it had done similar relatively low mileage and a bolt was loose at the camshaft p

Hi everyone. First off, apologies if this has already been covered. I did take a look but couldn't find anything specific. For history, it's a 13 plate TDI vrs Octavia (MK2) was rattling like a good un' so replaced clutch and flywheel (and slave cylinder) did do a SMFW conversion too. Turns out, that WAS a problem, but the gearbox is also shot, so that's on my list to replace next. Started and drove home fine that night. Next day, I drove it to work (about 20 minutes) no problems. Hi All, I'm new to the forum, this being my first post. I am loving the community so far. I have not long ago got a new to me 2016 Octavia Scout. ODBEleven is showing a P047000 'Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit'. I did a little searching around has not found much about this exact fault code. Does any one know what the fault is or can point me in the right direction please?

Hey all, Managed to get under my partners car at the weekend to service it and change the oil. Whilst there I was quite taken by how clean the engine was, but there was a patch of what looked like oil on the undertray. This was later discovered to be coming (I believe) from the gearbox drain plug. The car has had a new clutch, flywheel and replacement box in the last twelve months and so I can only assume there's an issue with the drain plug or a seal. Looking really closely at the drain plug
