Boost gauge now installed

Featured Replies

Hi all, My boost gauge arrived yesterday and I spent the day getting fitted.

I didn't go for the usual pillar mount, but instead I went for the push out tray.

I plan to hook up the vacuum tomorrow and in time look for a live. Currently running off the trays in built light.

Hope this provides some inspiration.

I like!

Looks good!

What did you use to mount the gauge on? Looks like a perfect fit

Do you get a good view of the gauge with it mounted there?

Permanent live from cd player!!

The gauge I bought came with a pod so i basically mutilated that to use a holder. So if the gauge broke it could be swapped over with a new 52mm quite happily.

As you see it in the photo is how you would view it from the seat. Not the most perfect place, but its not distracting and is hidden so it can't be faulted.

i like mate. tho i think you will find your self look down at it when boosting??? what gauge is it dude?

i get 99% of my silicone from AP motorstore or ASH (auto silicone hoses) just type it into ebay homie. 3mm silicone piping.

Want it tomorrow. do b&q do things like that plus the connectors?

Love it, looks like my old LiquidGauge did. Whats the mounting plate you fitted the gauge holder into made out of, metal or plastic?

Thanks, its actually wood! I cut it with a jigsaw into two pieces and wedged it in place. I then used Qbond to fill gabs and fill bits in.

Qbond is the bo 11 ocks! half my bora dash was held together with that stuff! Pig if you get it on your fingers tho! lol

i dont think B&Q do it mate.. you will need silicone as the crappy fish tank like air line pipe melts in the bay.

Out of interest, in the real world where is the best place to buy vacuum tubing?

I got mine off ebay, got 4 metres of the stuff to be on the safe side

To right! Really easy to sculpt with! Trust me. I know about that one haha, managed to get a small bit in my eye as well (dried).

Apparently there is 1 million places around here that sell it. Going to hyperhose tomorrow to get it. £1.23 a meter i think.

It's all hooked up and working whoop. I added a push to make button just under the lid so the gauge only lights up when the lid is open.

My car is mapped and it hits a high of 1.1 but stays just under 1 underload. Is that normal?

Yep if its a stage 1 map should peak about 18psi then hold about 14. Not all stage 1 maps do, but the vast majority do.
