Yeti in the snow again ...

Featured Replies

Here in t'Pennines I've woken up to about 4-6 inches of snow on April 4th, and still falling heavily. There are also strong winds which means it's likely to be drifting up on the moorland roads that I have to cross to get to work today. Am I worried - not a bit! Yeti + Goodyear 4 Seasons = no problem. I'll try and get some pictures later ...

I'm very jealous!! :envy:

My sister across at Consett was telling me about their heavy snow and couldn't believe that although we had heavy winds the sun was cracking the pavements!

I've discovered a fundamental problem of Yeti ownership. None of the snow (including some heavy drifts - the wind is fierce) I encountered today caused me any problem at all. However, I couldn't get to work because each of the three possible high routes in was blocked by other vehicles (trucks) that had gone sideways, backwards and all over the place, and hosts of cars trying to turn round and slipping/sliding all over the place as soon as their tyres got off the clear tracks. On one road, the A6033 across Oxenhope Moor, I was forced to turn round because of just such a blockage. As I drove back down the hill to Hebden Bridge I waved down a series of vehicles heading up to advise them, one of which was a local authority truck whose driver said "I know, we're just going up to put out the 'road closure' signs"!

Can't all these people please just get off the road so us Yeti folk can go about our business in peace - whatever the weather?

I'm almost tempted (out of the sheer boredom of being 'grounded') to say you've got a fog light out just to wind up those who are in the 'know.'

Sandy,

naughty corner........NOW!!

calm down dear, it's only a commercial wee bit of snow.

Guess who changed back to Pirellis last week and yes they are c-ap in snow. Good job I did`nt have to go far first thing but nearly all gone now!

With apologies to Father Ted!

He can't George, I sent him to the naughty corner!

Snow here since Sunday night, worst of it has gone so here's a photo of my car without snow

and here's a photo that shows other Skodas can cope with snow too :giggle:

Also back on summers and had to go to Leeds this morning; Garrowby as usual was shut, although fortunately I only encountered light slush on my other route across the Wolds.

Can't believe I was sent to the naughty corner when I'm on crutches - that's just so mean! ........

Tried to find some snow today at 700 meter altitude. But most of the snow was gone. Had a nice stop at Ringkollen though.

Nice to see you still get some snow over there :hi:

Discovered some fresh snow on my Yeti today

I also changed back to the Dunlop SP1s last week, then came to North Wales this week, to be faced with a blizzard yesterday on the Llanberis pass - managed to turn round OK in Pen-yPass car park at the bottom of the Pyg/Miners tracks up Snowdon, but Yeti had trouble gripping in the slushy snow at Ogwen Cottage later in the day. Definitely missed the Hankook winters !

We had to help push a stranded Alfa out of Ogwen car park on the A5 - he got stuck on his low profile tyres

Pete
