Looking for some advice.......when I turn my sidelights on the DRLs dim but no other lights come on until I switch to dipped beam. I've noticed that in the headlight unit there's a W5W bulb at the top of the unit. I can't seem to get this to come on, is it simply superficial and not used in the vRS as it's got the DRLs instead? Is there any way to activate them?

The headlights on the vRS are the same as the rest of the range so they just leave the sidelight bulbs in to fill the holes.

They aren't wired up so can't be activated/turned on.

It's the same on the Fabia MK II Vrs

So that's why I get flashed by others saying something along the lines of "you've not got your lights on" when the sidelights are on. Seems a bit daft really and would prefer a conventional dipped beam if that's possible ?

conventional dipped? You have got that?

To me sidelights are pointless. Mine never get used anyway as i have Auto lights so dipped is either on or off with no sidelights.
