Which colour VRS diesel will sell best?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking to buy an 11 plate VRS diesel. I'm looking at silver, black or white. Is any of these a no no when looking to sell on eventually? I currently have a 07 VRS petrol in blue, so am looking for a change of colour.

Thanks in advance.

Late to this dicussion. Do not buy a car in a particular colour based on what the resell value might be in a few years time. If you keep the car 4-5 years then colour is really not going to have any kind of effect on resell value.

When people are looking for a car of that age a colour is secondary, they will be looking for a particular specification.

The only colours that could potentially cause you problems would be the yellow or green. Both of these are very much "in the eye of the beholder" colours. But even if you went for those you wouldn't be exactly out of pocket.

Buy the colour you like best. Personally I went for Anthracite on mine and certainly don't regret that colour choice at all.

There's of course "the other blue" for the vRS now, a much more subtle deep metallic blue. That's Storm Blue.

So many of my collegues and friends have commented that they love the colour (race blue) that it's got to be done. Buy white and you'll spend your entire time getting flagged down by pedestrians thinking you are a taxi.

Black is a complete nightmare (my previous VRS was black), Looks awsome when first cleaned ......... ten minutes later it looks like it's been left outside for a year!

IMHO yellow looks cack on a car that big and for crying out loud its not a fricking Cinquecento Sporting FFS! I had one of the small Fiats and it was cool then...........15 years ago!

I like the look of red but red cars are just wrong unless they have a prancing horse on the bonnet :-)

The new 'Rallye" green will date faster than a Madonna Album - mark my words!

If I had a choice (I didn't this time around) I would plump for Anthracite. Having seem VRS Carl's "Anthracite Assasin" a month after picking up my Race Blue, I felt gutted

......... sits back and waits for the s**y to start flying :giggle:

I wouldn't bother with race blue for the same reason that I wouldn't bother with white again; because there's too many of them about. One of the best looking vRS estates on here is Nobafett's silver one, so it would be silver for me I think.

What this thread does tell you is that everyone likes different things and come resale if you have looked after the car it wont matter, so just buy the one you like.

Myself for instance wouldn't buy silver or black as they are dull and common, wouldn't buy white as its the latest fad/chav colour(especially with ned black wheels), wouldn't buy anthracite either as its also quite common and boring. Would have to be something slightly different(in that they are less common or middle management colours) so red, yellow or green for me. But I just like bright colours. :D

Just get any colour, with the advances in vinyl wrapping you can change it to whatever colour or pattern you so wish - in less than a day!

How about Cappuccino metallic 4K4K (beige) to match the performance?

Come on you a letting the side down going from Petrol to Diesel.

My dealer, and I buy one or two Skodas each year, keeps telling me to stay away from the more unusual colours such as the greens and the yellows as they are more difficult to sell on.

I like black as I have to have a reflective jacket in the car and the cops tend to use black around here and it can be like Mosses parting the Red Sea sometimes if they think you are cop.
