Think I have found my new wash mit, anyone tried one yet?

Featured Replies

Nope - I recommend the Megs mitt from Halfords. Quite long lasting but still kind to the paint. I'm shortly to replace mine which has done a good service. I will keep it though, as a wheels only mitt.

I ordered my washpad and wheel mitt from Dooka, brilliant for the job.

I am really put off lambswool! After using the gtechniq one and seeing how many swirls that placed on my paint work I am not really sold on the idea of another one.

It's probably not the mitts fault more your process. The car isn't clean enough before you start washing with it, if that's not an oxymoron.

As above you need to snow foam 1st

Snow foam and two bucket method will reduce swirls, not much will eliminate them totally. Washing a panel at a time then rinse in the rinse bucket, also use a different mitt for sills and lower parts of car also helps.

Since Mr Baker coached me on my process I've actually started enjoying washing cars and once you have good process and start seeing the results it's powerfully addictive.

Trust me I follow it to the letter! And have spent more than enough making sure I do it properly.

Another vote for the Dooka wash pad. I haven't used it yet ( hopefully tomorrow ) but really good quality.

I got one of the Shmitt gloves a couple of years ago when they first came out (they weren't sold under the CG label then). Initially I loved it as it is very soft. However I did find that the pad surface cuts up very easily. After a few washes there was noticeable scoring across it. I also found that the two sections of foam started to separate along the glue edge.

The glue failing may have been down to a dodgy batch but I don't think I would buy one again. At the moment I am using the Dodo Juice Supernatural Sponge. So far I am very happy with it. It is lasting better than my Shmitt; shows no signs of degredation; and is retaining its shape perfectly.

I really like the Megs Lambswool mitt :) I also have a Megs white microfibre mitt (which someone mentioned you can pick up from Halfrauds) and I have found that good too. One thing to note about Megs mitts is they last for absolutely ages. Had my white one for like 12 months now and used it plenty of times - doesn't show any wear at all.

Thinking abut getting one of these as my new wash mitts after being so disappointed with a lambswool mitt.

Anyone ever tried it.

This product is better suited to non paintwork surfaces in my opinion, if you think your lambswool mitt is rough then this is even worse.........

I think that if your put off by Lambswool then there is a reason for this I am sure and I would argue that you have been using the cheaper products from China, the wool falls apart after a while............ :@

I would suggest you try one of our dooka Wash Pad's, you won't find a better wash media that will hold plenty fo water but is so soft and super durable, I may be biased but the fact other's are recommending it speaks volumes in my opinion, we also sell different sizes as well..........
