Amundsen Nav unit led problem

Featured Replies

Hi folks

I'm new to the forum but have purchased a 1 yr old fabia VRS 1.4 TSI. Noticed today driving home on my nav unit the 'radio' and 'nav' buttons are not lit up green anymore! All the other buttons media phone tmc etc all are lit up in green (when the lights are on obviously). Anyone else had this issue or even know whats going on?

Apologies I am not technically gifted when it comes to cars lol. I appreciate them and love to drive but ain't got a clue when it comes to the mechanics of them.

I was guessing maybe an led issue?

Thanks for any help or advice

Lee

Take it back to your selling dealer there is an aboviuos light problem as all the buttons should be lit

2nd time in 3 weeks my fabia has had to go back to the dealer. Just rang then regarding the led an they said and I quote 'hmm not sure we can do anything about them'. I went absolutely postal. Not a happy Skoda driver at present. Will let you know the outcome when they call me back.

Apparently Skoda don't or can't replace the led's so they are replacing me with a new Amundsen system. Seems bizarre but who am I to complain?!

Result  And welcome to the forum.

Thanks very much :) other than the current issue the VRS is such a fun car to drive. Happy I joined the Skoda gang!

il have the other unit :)

Because the LED's on these unit's are soldered into the unit.. which maybe an expert electrician could do that but not a technician therfore skoda has no cababilty of reparing them under warrenty so a replacement unit will be issued and the old unti returned to admusten (possibly to be repaired and put back into cycle)

Yeah a guy from Skoda said the same thing about it being soldered in. Tbh if I had got an electrician in to do it I risk making my warranty invalid. Either way it's in for 24 April for a diagnostic check and then hopefully a new unit. I doubt I'll be given the old unit back but should Skoda make a complete **** up and leave me with the old unit as well as a new one I'll let people know who may be interested in one.
