Map Sensor Location

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me where the Map Sensor is located on the Fabia Combi Excellence 1.2 Petrol.

Is there one on a 1.2? It will be somewhere on the air intake system if so. I thought MAP sensors were only used on turbocharged cars - i.e "Manifold Absolute Pressure"

I assume there is, they are available on ebay. However, having looked under the bonnet, I see a sensor connected to a narrow steel pipe which is connected to the manifold and I am assuming that this is it. However, it doesn't look like the one's on sale on ebay so I am a bit confused, hence the reason for checking this forum. A graffic of the engine layout would be nice if someone has one. Thanks for your post anyway.

Is yours a 6-valve AWY engine code, or 12-valve AZQ? Or something else?

As far as I can see on a diagram of the 6v intake, the MAP sensor is below the throttle body on the rear of the inlet manifold.

On the 12v, it is on the (UK) driver's side of the inlet manifold.

Does it appear in this link at all?

Yes that's it. I have located it at the rear of the engine, drivers near the top belt pully. Thanks!

So, did a new sensor solve your problem? Or haven't you got/fitted it yet?

I'm curious; what symptoms led you to the diagnosis that it needed replacement?

I was looking at a 2nd-hand AZQ inlet mani just now, and there's quite a bit of grot (EGR soot + oil mist, I guess) sitting around in there, including some right around where the MAP sensor sits. Info I have suggests a mere 2Nm of torque for the fixing screws BTW, I guess 'cos they go into plastic.

Would be interested to know what the 'business end' of the old sensor looks/looked like on removal.

Cheers for any follow-up you can offer.
