Think I'd rather have one in burnt orange though ...

... went from a black mk1 octy vrs(which i think looks a bit dated Classic nowadays)

:sun:

... "heavy lard arse mk2"!! lol.

well sorry, they do look so cumbersome - they look larger than the Superb these days :giggle:

All that grayscaling was taking too long, so just grayscaled the car

Not sure on octy but like it on the wife's seat arosa

  • Hmmm ???? I think depends on how you go with it ?? Could work euro and wide

Lol,mk1 will never be a classic! mk2 doesnt look or feel any bigger than a mk 1 in my opinion(having had both) certainly nowhere near the size of a superb,mk2 is so much better in every way than mk 1,anyway going off topic. :-)

Maybe, the paintwork has taken a hammering over the last couple of years.

Since the car is now basically finished, now needs some TLC

Orange?

Don't they already make a dark burnt orange mk1, I'm sure I've seen one, possibly an slx?

Mine is a long way from finished and needs some TLC as well :D just fitted Bilstein B6's on rear as one of the shocks was totally dead. Fronts and Cupra subframe soon.

I have a few rust patches starting to make an appearance as well, how about yours?

Bilstein B6's

hear good things about those

Luckily no rust. Just a few too many scratches through to primer, stone chips, etc. The bumper is a mess though, as thanks to a LCR splitter, the whole bumper got flexed, which has cracked loads of paint off.

iirc thought is was a limitted run colour for Fabia's,

I could picture a bora in it, ...

burntorangejetta-1.jpg

Bmw techno violet ftw

Now can we get some black ch reps on that bora and a carbon or gloss roof lol

Bmw techno violet ftw

Looks good on a BMW, an old favorite on Golf's, Bora's & Corrado's

Would it work on an Octy though ?

Just needs the 'burnt' effect added now ;)

imo the black/orange contrast works quite well.

Think the lack of chrome and subdued headlight tint are key to the colour working.

burnt orange/black looks good on Ginetta's too ;)

Didnt notice the car in that picture........something else caught my eye!! :-)

orange and black ? IMAG0093.jpg

There's a car in that picture? All I can see is some eye candy lol

Which one was Ginetta, the brunette?

Edit: never mind I re-read it and they are both called Ginetta DOH! One with Black hair and the other Burnt Orange :D

Think I saw Fabia I in your colour today

Wasn't this car, but sort off looked burgundy-ish in the shade, and like below in direct sunlight

As far as orange is concerned I think this is about the best finish I've seen, though the Octy on the rolling road is a lot better than my Admiral Blue estate*. Wish it was a colour offered on the Yeti.

* which was trying to be orange by proxy last Sunday :)

That's the one I thought, that cayenne red

paint code says cayenne orange when ordered some paint for it :) snowmuncher it looks same colour as the fabia depends on the light how bright an orange it becomes.

Orange!.....do it end of!

Although that techno violet looks good, mate brought his vert round the other day and it does look good and would suit the octy :)
