Correct OBD2 cable for vcds

Hi all, I have downloaded the vcds lite and installed it to my laptop, I have already got a usb elm327 OBD2 interface but can not get the software to find the interface so I`m guessing its not compatible with vcds, so could any one of you point me to the correct one that me be on fleabay many thanks

cleared my airbag light in a jiffy. my mate had given me a fleabay one that he got. never worked once. worht the money imo, well built.

oh and make sure it's on com port 1-4. anything else wont work.

Did you have the cable plugged into the car when you were searching for it? If not then try again with it in the car as I believe they need to be powered to work. When I plug my cable into the car it has a blue light in it that comes on then it gets detected on the USB bus ok

The ones that use ELM chips will definitely not work.

Yes thats what I did but with no joy, will invest with the one pointed out to me then problem sorted
