Rear caliper problems again

Featured Replies

Hi. My rear drivers caliper was sticking on because the handbrake mech wasn't returning to the stop. I purchased a new caliper and it's been ok for the last couple of months but now it's started again. It IS returning back to the stop and handbrake is releasing properly but if I jack the car up and spin the passenger side with the handbrake off it's fine. But the drivers rear has quite alot of resistance.

What could it be? Am I being a retard and missing something obvious like. Not bled properly. Sliding bolts seized. Faulty caliper.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Is there anywhere online I can order these rear helper springs from? As I need some for my car also.

He has to go to Barry for them? S'pose he could get fish and chips and a 99 flake whilst he 's there though... ;)

More sensibly...

Remove pads and clean the caliper and pads/caliper surfaces. If you've not replaced the carrier too, have a good look at the pins and ensure the caliper itself can slide. Also check the carrier/hub bolts are properly tight.

I'd also fit new pads on both rears and wind the pistons all the way in so it's equal on both sides. Then fit the springs and see what happens
