Repair to the rear bumper and wing

Featured Replies

Hi

This looks like it would be just the place to find out the answer to my question :)

I have a damaged Fabia, Greenline, 59 plate with metallic paint.

It unfortunately got bumped last week by my son reversing out the drive way!

So I want to avoid insurance but still get it back to as good as new; the damage is as follows,

Few dents (1 large, 1 medium) in the rear presumably metal wing, with a small amount of paint damage. There is a scrape of about 3 inches on the bumper where the paint has also come off, in both cases (wing and bumper) the scrape is fairly deep.

How much can I expect to pay to get this up to a very good quality - I had one quote for £1500(!!!) as they wanted to replace the entire wing, although I see no reason why the metal can't be massaged back in to place, and even potentially filled?

Here is a couple of photos of the damage:

Thank you everyone in-advance!

Aha, I have said 50/50!

How good are they though, will you still be able to see evidence of it, never used them before?

I guess if your not happy they have to provide a good service :)

Those dents can be pulled out and massaged as you put it to perfection. As for the scrapes they can be painted over but the end result will not be perfect. Replacing the whole bumper is a bit extreme in my opinion.
