Climatronic blows only very hot air

Featured Replies

Few hour ago I was driving home and taking a pothole ,not big deal .....but immediately the climatronic starts to blow very hot air.And no matter how I set the temp the climatronic it is blowing only very hot air.

WTF?I think one of the flaps blocked on hot air or something.....anyone had that problem?

Maybe messed with the heater matrix... or it's become a politician... :giggle:

Someone with VCDS can check for issues or do a flap reset for you.

What is the procedure of reseting with VCDS?

Just noticed you have a MK1 so you can do it without VCDS.

A search of the forum or the useful links in the Mk1 forum will help you.

I runned the climatronic self test and it shows 444 00 ,so apparently there's no problem.

I dig a bit ant it seems that the Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor V71 may be broken.I'll run VCDS these days to see if 01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) appears

Problem solved....

The arm wich connects the V68 motor to the flap was detached due to vibrations/rough roads. The acces to this motor is allmost impossible, there's no space for nothing, not for your fingers, not for a small flashlight,I was spending 3 hours to unmount the motor, check it for cracks, lube it and reatach it in corect position.

The other motor V71 is responsable with air recirculation only, and has nothing to do with cold/warm settings.

That one was cracked, the VC-DS showed error,so i replaced it with a new one.Recplacing it is a pain in the ass too,is 5% easier than V68

I sincerely hope none of you wiil have problems with these climatronic motors.

had the loom and plug to my V68 cut off by some random "wise" electrician in the past, so i did spent over 5 hours to find out what's wrong with the climatronic and get it going
