Remap and DPF Life

Featured Replies

So, this thought occurred to me today after seeing a mapped Fabia RS take off in clouds of black reek.

Maybe i'm just paranoid as i've not seen it discussed before.

Will a remap shorten the life of a DPF???

The reason i ask is: Remap = More soot from exhaust (depending on mapper of course) thus filling the DPF quicker.

Thoughts?

Had a shark remap on my old PD140 superb with DPF and DSG box, no problems with DPF in 44K miles.
