2011 VRS value

Featured Replies

Could anybody give me a realistic value of my car. VRS 2.0ltr with DSG, 8k miles. August 2011 in Sprint Blue. Extras include full leather, Xenons, park sensors, sun roof and sat nav. It was 22k new, with VAT paid. It has had a Shark remap and fitted with full Milltek exhaust. Getting silly low quotes from dealers!! Thanks a lot.

22k new????? I paid just over 16k and whilst it's not DSG and doesn't have some of those options it still doesn't account for the 6k difference! You don't get your money back on the options either when you come to sell.

It depends whether you mean trade in value or private sale value. Private sale I would think around £14k - £15k or £12k - £13k for a trade in.

Having just checked Parkers that looks about right http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/prices/used/skoda/octavia/vrs-2005/42073/?yearplate=96

Trading in my 2011 VRS next week with DSG, parking and space saver 13.5k miles, petrol. Getting £11250. Ouch!

Interestingly I got £750 more than that for my 2.5 year old CR with 24k last march. Think I will hang onto my tsi!

I'm getting 14.5 K as a trade in for a Diesel VRS hatch for September time (12 months old, approx 16k on clock) - this is thru Canterbury Skoda - i've been told the market at the minute is pretty poor, but is likely to pick up :giggle: - i'll believe it when i see it... The options thing annoys me especially if you have sat nav, leather, xenons etc, as you get nothing for it - and the stealer will always price the car to the options fitted when selling it on :@ .

petrol octavia Vrs prices have really dropped. Think its got to do with the fact fuel is at daft prices

Agree. Think I will run mine into the ground lol. To be honest there's only a couple of cars that I would change it for but they are expensive compared to the Octy and whilst I could afford it I just couldn't justify it as the vRS does everything I want (apart from 4wd) so why change? I'll probably change my mind by this time next year and buy a Golf R though!

golf R Jonno? the only thing I would consider would be an S5 or a TT RS, The Golf R isnt really any better than an Octy bar the 4wd, but then you would be better with an S3 no?

Ouch, indeed. The other problem is that nobody seems to be buying cars privately and paying over the odds for second hand ones through dealers. Your trade in is a joke but what's worse is that someone will buy that car from the dealer for about £13500, shame.

Is the OP's vRS a petrol or diesel?

You could say the same about an S5 as there isn't a lot in it between a remapped vrs tsi and a standard S4/5 from a rolling start [from my experience] but of course they would remap well and then be in a different league but then I probably wouldn't remap the 3.0 supercharged engine.

I've just always liked Golfs and to be honest I would remap an R and that would make it similar [little bit quicker i guess] to my remapped vRS but with the 4WD. I saw this video on you tube of a guy with an R running Revo stage 1 doing a timed 40 - 110 in 4th. I did the same [private road] and mine was only 1 second slower to 100 than the R but 2 seconds slower to 110 but the power & torque are tailing off on mine in 4th after 100mph. If I had changed up to 5th I would of probably been a bit quicker but then you lose time changing gear so who knows. The vRS at Revo stage 1 actually has more torque than an R at Revo stage 1.

Sorry for going off topic just thought it was an interesting comparison.

I assumed it was petrol because I saw 2ltr but that could be diesel too

I know. I have it a very good price for private sale as well. Had a member come and look at this evening so hopefully he liked it and I can make a private sale. Oh well lesson learnt. The new car will be a keeper though.

Ah my diesel climbs as fast lol ;)

The S5 is a lovely place to be. TTRS not quite as nice but quicker. Golf R is very much like an Octavia VRS. S4/5 just feel like a different car altogether. I could have had an RS3 or S4 and went with S4 purely on interior. RS3 is very similar to TTRS. Cracking noise!

Probaby tomorrow. I have the price really low now as well and still can't sell it. He told me over the phone and asked me if I was sitting down!

I wouldn't say a Golf R is much like a vRS, it's more of a premium product. Agree S4 is a different car altogether although it shares a similar price point to the R. You can't compare an S4 to a vRS as it really is a premium product but then you're paying twice as much for it. Going from a remapped vRS to an S4 won't be a significant advancement in terms of performance although you'll get the power down much better at lower speeds and from a standing start. Like I said above a remapped S4 is a different beast altogether and moves into RS4 territory but whilst Revo do an S4 map I would be reluctant to do it. The 3.0 supercharger engine isn't widely used like the 2.0 tsi so any remap isn't as tried and tested. I would be wary anyway remapping a supercharged engine especially on £35k car. Having said all that the S4 gives the performance I want 'out of the box' so would be a natural choice for me and along with R is on my candidate list for next car.

The R is like the VRS in terms of interior quality, in my opinion of course. I have heard from a few people that the new S4 will stay with an RS4 straight line. Few of these people have owned both. A stage 1 S4 nails an RS4, check the revo video of it. I won't remap it anyway, il just be glad of better handling and low down power.

Did I compare the S4 to the VRS? Maybe I did. To be fair they are my 3rd and 4th cars so don't have much else to compare with.

And the rest. I'd expect the dealer to put that up at nearer 15, least the one near me would!

Sorry didn't mean to infer you were comparing S4 and vRS that was probably me.

As for S4 v RS4 the RS4 is a different beast entirely and in a straight line (or any sort of line for that matter) it would be the quicker, no question IMO (look at their relative power/torque to weight ratios), although I couldn't comment on whether a remapped S4 would be quicker or not.
