When did the new key arrive for RS, the one that folds into the grip?

Probably the 2001 model, as mine is one of them and I have a folding key.

It was around the June 2001 facelift -My RS (registered July 2001) had one, but another RS on our fleet, registered in June, didn't.

Funny how everyone, including Alfa and Jaguar have joined the "flick-key" revolution!

being used to the flick key and my wife running a passat with one too, i found it very strange when given the key to my current courtesy car, a 2 litre octavia ambiente.

have also got a spare as flip, do most of you have the same? annoyingly, i can't locate it anywhere, as i took it from its usual place when i moved house recently and put it in a 'safe place.'

forgot to say, my car is registered june 2001.

yes as every one says it was during 2001 it was introduced in what Skoda call the 2002MY (MY = model year) other changes with the flick key were blue tinted wing mirrors and a collapsable roof aerial instead of one that unscrews, mine has the changes it and was built SEP 2001. These changes were not just on the RS but are model specific.

Changes are nothing to worry about for those who dont have them the aerial looks the same, the keys larfer in your pocket, the blue mirrors help with glare a little, and probably could be retro fitted if desired.

If you are not aware the RS roof linning changed to grey/black from white in early 2002 also.

My car came with a 'normal' key and light grey headlining , registered July 2001.
