Front Drivers Window Stopped Working.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help me. My cars front driver side window has just stopped working. It worked yesterday and has never showed me any signs of failing before. It's just suddenly and completely stopped working.

All of the other windows work fine both from the driver console and there own individual switches. Key in the door turned to open car and hold, opens all windows except the drivers one. When I press the button, I hear a clicking from the drivers console like it's going to do something but the window doesn't move.

Any one got any ideas what it might specifically be from this description, or could it be a bunch of different things?

I've had a search of the forum and this post by rwbaldwin seems to be the best starting place to me, though I don't fancy removing a door card on a week night so will probably leave it for the weekend.

Thanks in advance.

If its not a dodgy contact in the door button console, then its strip the door and replace the motor/regulator.

Most likely the 2nd, as it wont open with the others from the key in lock.

Thought as much, thanks for the reply. Its always the way for me, save up for one thing and then end up spending the money on another. And till I fix this I can't go to any drive through's or car parks that you need to get a ticket from on the way in :wall:

Now that problem you mentioned about car parks, is the sort of inconvenience you dont even think about until you have a problem!!!
