TIP

Featured Replies

Been hunting around and have seen a couple of different types, Would like to know peoples views on these.

What have you got fitted? Alloy(metal) one or a silicone one? why did you choose to go with that one? was it price or performance? trying to work out which is better.... I know an exhaust and sportscat is reqd to make most out of TIP to reduce that very restrictive neck by turbo.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

The forge or samco silicon intake pipe is good. The ABD alloy inlet looks good but very few have tried it.

To be honest though the restriction/kink in the oem inlet allows the air to be channeled more into the turbo thus allowing smoother spool. The oem turbo isn't big enough to warrant such an enlarged inlet...

As said though the biggest single improvement on these cars IS the downpipe/cat.

ive got a ABD tip on mine its a well made bit of kit but a bit pricey really, never really noticed much dif over std,but as tesco say 'every little helps' :)

I got a Neuspeed (copy) one off Ebay from America, genuine is £120 or was. Mine was 75 all in posted lol.

I noticed the car was instantly smoother but I did have everything else done too and it was custom mapped before, the TIP just made it better.

I went for that one coz there is only one pipe to swap as it just replaces the std part. The Forge and Samco, Autobahnn888, and others all replace both parts and need to swap countless pipes over plus are held on the turbo by a jubilee clamp. Not ideal for me as I want mine to look at a glance like its std. ish
