Air filter

Featured Replies

Looking around I have seen that APR, Revo and Pipercross all do filters to replace the standard air filter. I know the ITG kit gives the best gains and comes recommended, but for the time being don't want to spend the cash, and just want to stick with the standard air box.

Would there be any difference between the above 3? Or all pretty much the same?

Thanks very much

There will be very little difference mate and realistically it won't be worth the upgrade.

Just do the sock mod on the OEM filter :)

Which one if you're not bothered about anything other than noise?

Honestly it's not worth buying any replacement filters in my opion. I ran a Revo replacement for a while and I couldn't tell the difference between it and standard.

Ok, thanks very much. Didn't think they'd be any different, but just thought I'd ask anyway. Had a Pipercross venom induction kit on my old car, and that just made the performance worse, so since then wanted to avoid induction kits if I could, but will have to just get the cash for the itg and give it a bash. And wanted to make sure I do the research and get all the info on everything like filters, lowering and remaps etc before I start changing things on this car!

It's always good to ask questions mate :) no harm in that.

I was the same as you, didn't want to spend much on the filter, eventually got the Revo one bought for me. It wasn't a bad filter at all just gave very little/no gain over the OEM unit. I conceeded that if you want to up the performance you have to pay a little more to get the best for the car.

What difference does it make to the noise though?

Not bothered about bhp gains right now.
