Honda Hawk GT, NT650 RC31, same as Honda Bros

Featured Replies

I know it's meant to be the cars for sale section but thought I'd stick my bike in here in case there's anybody interested.

For sale is my Honda Hawk GT NT650 V-twin. This is the American version of the Japanese Bros NT650. It is a 1989 model in blue and has done 43,000 miles. It comes with a full years MOT and I will put 6 months tax on it when it sells, it is sorn just now. I have receipts for all the new parts I have fitted and 8 previous MOT certificates as well as a few other receipts. The bike has only done about 12,000 miles since 2005 and I only did a few hundred miles in the 2 years I've had it. I'm just selling due to the lack of use.

The bike has quite a low seat height and is nice and narrow being a V-Twin. It is very easy to ride and could be an ideal first big bike. It has the single sided swing arm as well which I think looks good.

The bike is in good condition throughout and requires nothing. A while after I got it I gave it to someone I know who was an ex John Weir Honda mechanic to do a list of jobs. These included a full service with air, fuel and oil filters, valve clearances and carbs balanced. New spark plugs, brake fluid changed, coolant changed. New chain and sprockets, rear brake pads, fork seals replaced and oil changed. New rear cush drive and new rear brake switch. I just got him to check everything on the bike and did his full list of recommendations.

I also replaced the whole exhaust system with a genuine Honda standard system with the stubby style silencer which I think suits the bike. This was a used system so there is a small scuff on the back of the silencer but it is not too bad. The downpipes were cleaned up and polished before fitting and the silencer collector section resprayed in black. Both tyres are in excellent condition.

It will also come with a few spares. One of the differences between the Hawk and Bros is that the Hawk has slightly higher handle bars for a more upright riding position. I have a set of the lower style Bros handles which could be fitted. I also have an original Honda service manual and Haynes book. Someone at my work used to race bikes with his daughter and the tyres are the same size as the Hawk so I bought a set of tyres from him. They are 2 rear Dunlop Sportmax GP tyres and 1 front one. They are very soft and sticky so maybe good for sticking on during summer. He ran a pair on his own bike and said they were raod legal as well as being aimed at track use.

I think thats about it but if there is anything else you want to know just give me a shout. I stay in Cupar, Fife.

I've advertised it elsewhere for £975.
