Which of these should I use and which order do I apply these after washing, claying and drying for the shiniest finish, and which for the most durable finish, and a compromise.

Mer's polish

Autogylm SRP

Autoglym extra gloss protection

Meguair's 'step 2' polish

Meguair's carnuba wax

Collinite 845 (I am using this for wheels at the moment)

Collinite 915

edit:

Something like this for a good compromise?

1) Autoglym SRP

2) Meguair's polish

3) Mer's polish (because I already have it and for extra shinyness?)

4) Meg's carnuba wax (good results in the past but didn't last very long, I have a new bottle, why waste it)

5) Autoglym extra gloss protection (not sure what the difference between a sealant and colinite which is meant to protect is, or do i put this before any sort of wax even though Meguar's recommend the wax after polish)

6) collinite 915 (because it's highly recommended and is supposed to protect and be shiny)

7) extra layer of colli 915 (for extra protection)

As above but steps 1, 2 and 3 are the same so choose one that you like (AG or Megs for me out of the 3).

Then skip 4 as it isn't needed and could prevent the sealant doing its job.

So to sum up:

1. AG SRP or Megs

2. AG EGP

3. Collinite 915

4. Another coat if you so wish.

Thanks for the reply. to be honest I'm confused as to what the autoglym extra gloss protection sealant does (it just looks like a bottle of water and I can't see or feel any difference with or without it)

I know the AG srp has some abrasive properties to remove very faint scratches, but the meg's polosi is only a p[olish. I have ran out of Meg's paint cleaner which is what meg's recommends before polishing.

So I should use the AG extra gloss protection and use wax after. I thought a sealant is designed to 'seal' everything in after all the polish and wax)

Don't worry, it confused me at first.

The EGP seals the paint after you have polished it. It wont feel any different as it isn't changing the surface of the paint like polish does (all polishes have abrasive properties to them and SRP is great for filling in micro scratches) but it seals in the 'filling' properties of the polish. After polishing your paintwork has no protection which is a common misconception by many people as they think that a polished car is a protected car.

The wax on top of the sealant adds a protective layer to the selant and gives you a nice glossy finish which you can re apply as often as you like....I use Collinite 476 and find it lasts 6 months ish before i need to redo......saying that my car is a right state at the moment and needs some TLC!

AGSRP is NOT just a polish but a cleaner, swirl filler and a basic sealer product as well..In other words...an All in one product.(AIO)

It DOES HAVE protective properties unlike a dedicated polish. However, it doesnt last that long..so a sealer (EGP) is produced by AG to address this need

Thanks for clarifying. I've been reading reviews on detailing world and it made me really confused..so many products all claiming to do the same job, i.e. polish and protect.
