Q3 RS Concept

Featured Replies

Just been looking at that on their website.

Now any guesses as to whether and when Skoda are going to do a vRS version of the Yeti.

I suggest we don't hold our breath

............errrrrrrrrr..............never...........

Interesting.

Less than a year ago Audi said there would be no RS SUVs as they didn't fit in with the core values of the RS branding. They implied they would not just slap the badge on any car to make a quick buck as it's not just about strafight line speed. It's about handling and driver involvement, unlike BMW that sticks the M badge on it's bigger SUVs like the X5 and X6 to make money from something that is fast because it has a big engine, but pretty naff in the corners.

Have they finally sold out the RS brand?

RS badged cars were always made in a special factory historically, but that changed with the TT about three years ago.

It was the first to be built alongside regular TTs rather than in a dedicated RS facility. The thin end of the wedge? :)

BTW I had a TT-RS on order, but they are not as exciting as you'd think. Cancelled it.

Feel a bit tame IMO Safe and predicitable handling that understeers not to catch the average driver out.

Some of already have VRS Yetis :)

The RS3 really appeals to me because it is so unnecessary.

There are 2 types of cars I love - big car with really small engine (like the 1.2 Yeti or MB S250 CDI (2.1 litre), Volvo S80 1.6D) and small cars with massive engine (like the Metro 6R4, RS3, or SLK 55).

Having owned 4 different vRS models prior to the Yeti I would be first in the queue for a Yeti vRS! Though it would need to be diesel, but something with 300ft ibs+ of torque would do very nicely!

How about that BiTurbo Diesel in the VW Amarok?

http://www.topgear.c...3-rs-2012-04-18

Figures look interesting - 300 hp engine from the 2.5 5 cylinder engine (same as RS3 - my favourite car at the moment and the TT RS).

AutoExpress have it written up as 20bhp more than TT RS and RS3 @ 355bhp as here;- http://www.autoexpre...3_revealed.html

Maybe Audi are just trying to get the drop on the rumoured baby Cayenne from Porsche, based on the Q5, due out sometime soon.

Mind you; I don't like the amorphous, anodine styling of the Q3 or Q5 so unlikely to buy the Q3 RS.

Now if only I could get an Intercooler and turbo upgrade onto Kevin ..for about 265-285 bhp ......... Hmm.
