Does any know, please, how to remove this socket?

I suspect you will need to pull off the side of the console, but it might be possible to see what's what if you remove the "faux leather" gear stick gaiter. That just pulls up.

 

Make sure you've pulled the fuse first, as it is permanently live.

Just out of interest, why do you want to remove it?

Because the power plug on one of my devices has come to pieces and two of the small components (inc. the fuse) have disappeared through the tiny holes in the socket, so I'd like to try and retrieve them if poss?

In that case, you might well find that pulling the gear lever gaiter off will get you into the right area.
