Cleaning dash and leather steering wheel.

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

I need something that's very quick and easy to use when I'm on the move. Just to give the dash, the interior plastics (doors, where handbrake is etc), as well as the leather steering wheel. Ideally, something that can pickup dust, and bits of fluff.

I do a lot of driving for work and am a telecoms engineer so am always dragging little bits back into the car on my clothes.

Any suggestions?

In this weeks Auto Express they rate Tesco`s General Car Wipes @ £1.00 for a packet of 20.

At that price worth a try me thinks.

I wouldn't use anything on a leather steering wheel other than a cloth slightly dampened with water. Some cleaning products on a leather wheel will make the wheel feel slippery in your hands etc - which aint what you want!

Depends how much you want to spend really - there are plenty of Autoglym products available at somewhere like Halfords, which offer good value for money.

Personally I would buy AutoGlym Vinyl and Rubber Care plus a pack of microfibre cloths - you can keep the bottle in the glovebox or door pcoket

Yarrrrp, what he said. I use AG Vinyl and Rubber Care for the dash and centre of the wheel. Then give the outer wheel a light wipe with the same cloth. seems the work for me.

i recently used Poorboy's Trim Restorer, pretty good and smells lovely!

Not used that myself but do use the Poorboys Natural Look Dressing which is very good.

apologies, thats the one i used lol, got mixed up with the names

A Damp Microfibre is all you need. I can't bear any trim products on interior plastics.

Another one here for AG vinyl and rubber care.

I use meguiars interior cleaner once in a while. I keep a microfiber cloth in the door just to go over between cleans. I find it works well on those annoying marks left by sat nav/phone windscreen mounts as well. I don't wet it or anything just wipe over dry
