Featured Replies

Hi,

Has any one bought vas 5054a off e bay and what are your opinions of it, I already have a registered version of vcds but was looking at vas for its guided fault finding function's.

Tony

Well it wont be legal, since its dealer only kit and the license alone costs many 000's.

I apreciate that it may not be legal, but unlike vcds which ross tech quite rightly protect from fraud on e bay, vas 5054a is listed on e bay without any issues. So my question again is has anybody using it and what is their opinion.

I have Elsa Win and Ekta installed on my computer and have used both many times to help members of this forum.

Just because it's listed doesn't mean it's legal - Siemens/Softing are pursuing these here in Germany and we (Ross-Tech and our Distributors occasionally) report sellers to them as well, heck we even joined forces in court cases in the past. It is one thing to use/have stuff that you are not supposed to have but in some cases there is little to no sympathy for those advertising such wrongdoing. Everything available in ELSA can be legally obtained via erWin and the same goes for ETKA via partslink24, even if you want a legit VAS you can buy it and the software directly from VW - if you spend some more money you even get SVM/GeKo access without being a dealer.

Essentially what you are asking here is if people who are also using pirated products will give your their experience/opinions - well knowing that you are using/asking for isn't legal. Per my understanding the forum rules/guidelines explicitly forbid this kind of topics/discussions.

8. Illegal transactions/sites like warez, selling of personal information (i.e. credit cards, e-mail addresses), pornography, etc are not allowed in the forums and will result in the deletion of the post and the revocation of your posting privileges.
