6 pot brakes

Featured Replies

Just been reading the 'doing it right' thread - instead of clogging that ace thread up I thought I'd post seperately.

I have no intention of going bigger brakes (big believer in less weight and hot discs on a road car)

The guys who have upped to Porsche 6 pots - have you changed the master cylinder size / ratio? Or are the piston volumes similar to standard?

Just after feedback / thoughts really

The only criticism I have of the standard set up is too light a feel/not progressive.

I've tried with Vcds with brake assist level put unsure what this actually achieves (not sure how brake assist works really)

I've not changed my master cylinder, and the brakes seem to work just fine

Found this regarding the master cylinder from a golf forum:

'Master cylinder in MK5/6 is not "static." The computer constantly learn and adapt to the brake demands, point proven with my daily and track driving'

So perhaps I should play more with Vcds...
