can someone confirm or deny they rumors about Fabia vRS 11 plate radio

Featured Replies

Hi all, as stated above iv heard a few rumors about the standard radio in Fabia vRS 11 plate (mk2)

first rumor is if you mess about with the electronics (try attatching subs or after-market headunit) the ECU locks you out and its a few hundred to get it back online.

this i cant belive but just want to hear it from the experts.

secondly is there a remote live connection in the back of the radio to attatch a sub without needing an aftermarket radio?

thanks all

Never heard of the first issue tbh having fitted quite a few accessories.

Yes I think you can get an adaptor to convert a line out for a sub, but for a remote live you can just use an ignition live.

I think you mean if it asks for a code the only option is to pay a dealer, but it wont be £100's

I fitted a sub to standard headunit with no probs. The amp switched its self on when it detected a signal.

Or use a test light/multi meter to find a switched live

what about the two red and white leads that go into the amp? i assumed they were to transfer the sound from headunit to amp... my standard unit dosent have the two sockets for these leads? any clues

You can use an RCA adaptor that takes the signal from the existing speaker connections.
