9" rims

Featured Replies

Evening peeps, To those that have got 9" rims on the front of your mk1 octy. What size tyres do you have fitted? what offset rims, are spacers fitted? what sort of clearance issues did you encounter (arches/shocks/coilovers).

TIA

J.

9" rims there small hahahaha

I was thinking the same :)

hahahaha go cart wheels!

does the bumper scrape on the floor? hahaha

Dont 9j rims ususlly go on the rear due to the full lock issue on the front ?

Noone could give you a decent answer on that one fella until you say how low your car is!

Standard, decked or otherwise!

Right.... thanks for that.... (note to self... give ALL info possible to avoid future embarrasment)

Rims are 17x9, car is mk1 octy 4x4 lowered on spax rsx coilovers to a sensible (not look at me i'm ploughing tarmac) height.

I have now fitted 225/45/17's with a little stretch (less than i thought) and they clear the coilovers and the arches and don't rub on full lock..... happy days

So in other words they fit then? As long as you're not really low 9's on the front of Mk4 Golf platform cars is fairly easy.

It does depend a lot on the offset though! a 9 at ET0 ain't gonna fit, but around the ET30 to ET25 mark they're usually ok depending on tyre choice.

no offset cast/stamped into the wheels but they measure about et25 as best as i can.
