09 (Facelift) Octavia - front DRL's to switch on + more

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I know from reading every thread under the sun that this subject of DRL's on the Octavia facelift and switching them on, my apologies if this has already been answered!

Ive just taken hold of the car (its an 09 plate facelift Octavia Elegance 2.0 TDi) and have tried every combination of indicator stalk/ignition moves to get the things to light.

I can confirm that I have front fog lamps with integrated DRL's which are fitted with P21W bulbs.

I cant seem to get a conclusive answer as to my next move but does anyone know how to enable them?

Is it a steeler or VCDS option.

Having phoned 3 dealers today and skoda uk not 1 could confirm if I could get them to work?

If I do need a VCDS patch is there anyone in the Warwickshire/Midlands area who could lend a hand?

Also does anyone know if the DRLs are monitored on CAN? Can they be changed as several people have, for LED's without CAN resistors?

A little off the subject but can the left rear fog lamp also be switched on?

Any assistance would be fantastic.

Regards, Steve

It can be done with maxidot if you've got it.

Hi Paul007,

Ive heard the term, this is my instrument pack....is it maxidot?

If it is, would there be a secret menu to access?

Cheers

Ignore that Ive just checked and its not a maxidot! :(

Drls can be switched on via vcds .!

Look up the vcds owners map, will find someone nearby to you.

Since yours is a FL, shifting to led drls will cause the bulb warning light to come one, unless you put those capacitors or something or run a parallel bulb.

Second rear fog also cannot be activated on the FL. ( not with vcds atleas )

Off topic but 120k in 3 years.....wow your car has been busy! :-)
