Intermittant Bluetooth problem

Featured Replies

Yes call it whatever you like.

It did not work today. I could not persuade it to move off iPhone onto Skoda_BT in the audio selection choices.

I think a call to Apple is in order now. When I have the time.....

As I said before there should be a Bluetooth software update by the end of the month, assuming the MY13 updates apply to all installed modules too.

Also the iPhone, up to the 4S are listed as compatible by Skoda so you really need to get the issue escalated by Skoda to get resolved. As its a very popular phone I would hope any software updates for the GSM module would help.

I have an iPhone 4 and hope it works ok, car confirmed as built yesterday ;)

The iPhone 4 worked flawlessly.

Not so the iPhone 4S

I hope the updates do apply to GSM 11 as well or I will be mighty p155ed off with apple/skoda.

I'm glad the 4 works ok but hope they keep updating the module if needed as I intend to upgrade to the 'iPhone 5' so I could be in the same boat otherwise.

Luckily this module is VAG so can't believe it won't be updated.

I have my Skoda dealer looking into it.

I spoke to Apple and told them what i had done, which is what they would tell me to do, but the guy wasn't listening to me, especially when I said that it affects others cars as well and that it is all over the Internet!

I know it is the hardware difference between the 4 & 4S as the phones were using the same firmware.

Let's hope Skoda can update their module on my car that is 18 months old next month.

Getting Apple to acknowledge a problem as an individual I imagine is near improssible but if VAG go to them it would be a different matter. VW and Audi are big in America the home of iPhone and imagine the same Bluetooth modules used there too.

This always annoys me when two, I assume, certified Bluetooth devices don't communicate correctly, which has the bug?

As Skoda list the iPhone 4S is compatible via a list posted in the forum (website one out of date), the ball should surely be in their court especially with their customer service reputation. But if you're the only one to complian it could be hard.

A bug report on Apple's bug reporter would not hurt giving as much detail as possible ie. Bluetooth module version and firmware noting a VAG part as Skoda will be unknown in California. You need to register for a free developer account to be able to log in to and report a bug.

Definitely intermittent.

It worked on all my calls today, but not yesterday :puzzled:

Trawling through a search for this problem. I have a Mar 2011 Yeti Elegance with a Columbus. My wife's iPhone 3GS works fine but my brand new 4GS does not and although is connected - shows missed calls. The phone also appears to exhibit problems connecting to the wireless network and won't always collect email when connected. I have to reboot the phone to make calls via Bluetooth again.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this really rather annoying problem??

Never had problems with emails, but I am begining to wonder if it might be the phone....

Rockhopper how did you get on with grumbling at Apple?

Funny you should mention me.....

My Skoda dealer checked everything and it was all okay. They replaced the rear badge at the same time.

So the car was deemed to be fine.....

So as a last resort I restored the iPhone 4S to factory defaults using iTunes. Then I set it as as a new user.

Loaded everything back on. Re-paired it with the car, and deleted the old pairing. Oddly still shows as the previous name, but has since been working like my previous iPhone 4.

So looks like a factory restore via iTunes is the answer.

If I have any more issues I will update, otherwise all is hunky dorey.

I have now resorted to grumbling at our phone supplier - problem is they don't seem to understand that The Yeti has BT installed as OEM, and they keep refering to 'The Installer of the BT Kit' !! However if I can convince them that it is the phone then I am told that O2 will just swap it - so far there has been a long silence from them... I'm off to France this w/e so I will see what awaits me when I return (or what pops up on my email whilst I am in range of any wifi...

grrrrr.... missed a call for the same reasons above.

Maybe the phone is faulty. Maybe I can live with it.

Not impressed.

I've looked at various phone lists across the site and was wondering if anyone had the new samsung galaxy s3 and if it worked with the bluetooth in my Yeti. Thinking about getting it and don't want to find out it doesn't work with the car. Apparently the phone has bluetooth version 4.0? I don't know what that means... But if someone can confirm it would be great!

The iPhone 4S also has v4 BT. Some seem to work, others like mine don't.

Ask Skoda customer services, (as if they would know!!!)

I have the galaxy s3 and it works perfectly with the yeti. Phone calls and streaming music without any issues.

Oh and it is an amazing phone. I have an s2 as my work phone and didn't think it could be improved on by much..... It can and it has been :-)

Well.

Apple changed my phone last week. Let's see if that fixes the problem.
