Evening all...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just sold my E39 Sport, as it was costing too much to run a 3 litre engine for 15 miles a day,and bought a secret desire Octavia VRS 2001 51 plate as a work/tip car but knowing me it'll end up pampered and having far too much money spent on it.

So far it's standard but I'm sure it won't stay that for long, I've got the D link bushes to do, maybe tomorrow... But apart from that it's great, it's nice having a silver car over a black one!

Hopefully I'll meet a few people on here and at local events (south east). Oh and I'm quite into watches (about to buy a Tissot for a new daily if anyone else is?).

Look forward to meeting some of you, and maybe buying thigs from you too!

Hi and welcome aboard.

Thanks guys, what's the best way to get the callipers back to a shiny green again, we talking a proper clean up and maybe a re-lacquer or do they just polish up?

I thought the car had been pretty well cared for butim not so convinced, good news is although the tracking was 10deg out its now fixed and it doesn't look like the tyres have suffered too much. Going to try and get the wheels off it soon and get them cleaned and polished up. But the interior is driving me mad s that may be the next thing that gets tackled. The white, when new looked nice but 110,000 miles later it's not so crisp.

Anyway, this is my calliper after a quick clean (yay a photo!) ignore the wheel I still need to give that a proper clean (I'm pretty obsessed with car cleaning!)

I'd post ne of the car but it was dark as I was finishing and with a hosepipe ban it's a nightmare cleaning anything!

Going to do the ARB today or tomorrow and give it a full oil service and throw some NGK-R plugs in it for good measure.

(I also bought this instead of a new head unit, it was a tough choice but the Tissot won!

I have to stop spending money, but it's so nice having something a bit more economical again!)

That is a lovely watch for a daily!

Anyway, today I spent a bit of time cleaning the car, even being as obsessive as cleaning the brake callipers! I have no pics of the inside as that is going to be professionally done next week (damn you white seats!) so I haven't even bothered!

I have just noticed the kerb mark in the corner of the picture so I'll have to do something about that!

Got a full service to do on the car next and the ARB maybe tonight if the weather stays nice... It's nice having a car that comes up this well, I did take a bit of a gamble on it but hopefully it'll pay off.
