any one any ideas :(

G28 is the engine speed sensor. What was the fault code?

unsure of the fault code all i saw pop up on laptop at the garage was g28 and then told it was the crank sensor

If G28 fails the car won't start. Good indication of that being faulty is the rev counter won't move when cranking.

However if it's starting ok it might be worth just keeping an eye in it.

been having problems starting the car especially in the wet weather have to keep cranking it giving it a pedal full of gas and it goes eventually does that sound more like a speed sensor as opposed to a crank sensor
